PAUSE Abroad: Scotch & Soda

By June 9, 2013Fashion News
We at PAUSE are loving the Agi and Sam collaboration with Topman. These eggshell print tailored shorts are definitely a favourite of ours and here we have a way to style them!

The shorts speak for themselves so it is better to keep the rest of the outfit subtle. Pairing the shorts with a plain white tailored shirt is the easiest and most effortless option. From there you can either go formal or casual, and here we’ve gone for a more casual look with the cap and sneakers. For a more formal look, you could rock a pair of loafers and add a tie to the shirt. A perfect accessory would be a nice clean looking black bag like this one from Zara.

The tempered grey clouds finally decide to make way for blue skies and some partial evidence that the sun still exists is comforting. However this recent temperature of a fairly respectable 20ºC is enough warmth for us to start breaking a sweat as the party invitations are expected to increase tenfold. This month, the PAUSE team will be reporting from Amsterdam. In addition to its many sensory delights, the Dutch capital is widely recognised as a fashion hub and over the next few weeks we’ll be picking out a few of our style favourites from the ‘Venice of the North’.

First up is Scotch & Soda | Amsterdam Couture. Affordable and right on trend, the Dutch highstreet label was relaunched in 2001 after substantial re-branding. Since then they have garnered praise for their rich detailing and experimental collections, characterised by an overriding European nonchalance.

Capitalizing on the current “all-over print” trend, the SS13 collection is dominated by Hawaiian florals, washed out tie-dye, flashes of Atzec print and colourful Bretons.

Our PAUSE pick has to be the Bowie slim-fit trousers – especially the ones emblazoned with a tiger motif.
