LCM: Ka Wa Key Spring/Summer 2017 Collection

On day two of London Collections: Men, Hong Kong native Ka Wa Key Chow introduced his Spring/Summer 2017 collection in a romantic and sensual presentation. Occupying the Ice Tank, a secretive space located near Covent Garden, the new collection featured Ka Wa Key’s signature pieces such as textured raincoats, asymmetric cuts and loose shapes.

After exploring the roots and cultural identity of Asian men in his “No Asian Plz” Spring/Summer 2016 collection, Ka Wa Key worked on a way more dreamlike approach this season, as evidenced by the pastel palette. The presentation featured a woven machine, illustrating the crafting and the art of clothing, while a soft opera-like music resonated in the small venue. Ka Wa Key’s models slowly came to life, led by a faceless all-white silhouette, drawing into the energy of sheer clothes and mesh pieces.
