NYFWM: Brett Johnson Spring/Summer 2017 Collection

Seemingly inspired by a Mexican cartel, Brett Johnson presents SS17.

Brett Johnson’s SS17 Presentation does not look completely dissimilar to certain scenes of Breaking Bad (if the cast of Breaking Bad were incredibly fashion-forward, that is) and appears to play on the connotations surrounding Mexican and Cuban culture.

The collection features a range of shell-like orange jackets and trousers, as well as a subtle black scorpion detail amidst a crisp white shirt. Juxtaposing these very Mexican aesthetics, lies a range of jacquard-esque tailored blazers and bomber jackets washed in a sea of lilacs and pale pinks. The collection utilises shiny leather fabrics for its biker jackets and pairs printed waistcoats with thinly striped shirts as well as featuring military jumpsuits and light breezy knitwear. A truly exciting offering for SS17.
