So earlier in the months the infamous bad gal Rihanna caused a stir wearing a t-shirt which read ‘Weird Shit Is Happening’ whilst holding an infant. Baby aside, we loved the tee but it sparked a talk in the PAUSE offices, are slogans on t-shirts making a comeback?

Obviously we are not including the vulgar holiday t-shirts which range from ‘I’m with stupid’ to ‘all I got from my holiday was this lousy t-shirt’ which are sadly still very much alive.
rihanna-ktag-tee (1)But we have seen a spectacular rise in slogans on clothes from Acne’s AW14 collection, being full of slogans like ‘You First’ or ‘Spectacular Sensation’. Another brand is Private Party who solely produce cool pop culture slogans on t-shirts and jumpers like ‘Drake is a Scorpio’ or ‘Britney + Justin’. Of course not forgetting Moschino’s ‘I don’t speak Italian but I do speak Moschino’ which has been doing the rounds amongst the celebrities.

We at PAUSE are here for this trend however we do have some words of advice if you were to execute it.

1. Make sure the words are spelt correctly.
2. Make sure the slogan is cool and not cringey.
3. If it’s musician based, then make sure you actually know the music of the artist, don’t just preach something because its cool.
4. Finally be wary of strangers spending long periods of time trying to work out what your t-shirt says.

We totally hope to see this trend gain full momentum and be done properly with cool youthful slogans. Below are some of our favourites.
