Celebrity Style: Tom Cruise Looks Dapper at ‘Oblivion’ Russian Premier

If you haven’t already, there is one thing to adjust and direct attention to in fashion its colour. Designers have made good use of colour just about everywhere, from colour blocking, multi-tone colour-ways or head to toe full out outfits based on one single colour. Burberry Prosum Autumn/ Winter 2013 collection previews a whole lot of metallic vibrancy just to demonstrate the extent of eccentric colours to play with. Replacing there well known mute neutral coats and shirts for busy prints and metallic foil fuchsia pinks, rich mint greens and royal blues. Logically, these aren’t the most wearable appearances for the ‘normal’ 9-5 working person however the foundation to meditate on is to make the move on bold colours every now and then effectively but to stay cautious before the purchase that there is always potential to attempt the latest trend and still fail.

Have a look at Burberry’s take on the trend and some of PAUSE’s high street alternatives.

We at PAUSE support the punchy rainbow accents but simultaneously want to point out that before the rampage of Power Rangers take the streets, take inspiration from the, less is more theory. Feature the colours! If one isn’t completely keen on the transition, trade accessories for vivid alternatives. Try combinations of staple pieces in subtle tones and textures for something easy and simple. Observe the right occasions to express the fullness of the high volumes of vibrancy.

MENS TROUSERSIt’s a well known fact that men do not have the choice that women have when it comes to deciding what to cover your legs with. Wearing trousers is a normal part of everyday life for a man. Whether it be jogging bottoms or suit trousers. But when it comes to abiding by a smart casual dresscode, what trousers should (or shouldn’t) you wear?

As a man’s wardrobe doesn’t contain the option of wearing a skirt, deciding what trousers to wear as part of a smart casual look is relatively simple. The options usually comprise of: formal trousers, jeans, or chinos.

Formal trousers can be in the shape of suit trousers, but this does not mean you can just yank a pair from your suit and wear them out. Do this too often, and one day you will realise your trousers and jacket are now two different shades! Many shops sell suits as individual pieces, so if there’s a suit trouser you feel would also be good to wear out, buy another pair. Also, another mistake is to try and ‘dress down’ formal trousers by wearing them with trainers. This is not a good look!

The jean has been ubiquitous for over fifty years. The versatile garment can be worn as part of a smart casual outfit, providing the rest of the look is smart, e.g., a shirt and a sturdy shoe, such as a loafer. Stick to dark blue denim, as it’s a classic, and most versatile.

jean

Chinos have been gaining popularity over the last couple of years. More formal than jeans, but less smart than suit trousers, chinos are the perfect middle ground for the middle ground dresscode that is smart casual. Chinos can be worn with virtually anything; shirts, jumpers, blazers, smart shoes, trainers. However, when it comes to smart casual, it’s best to be worn with a shirt, or a t-shirt and blazer.

Whatever you decide to wear, the most important rule is: Make sure your trousers fit correctly.

Tom Cruise continues his press tour across Europe to promote his new blockbuster ‘Oblivion’. The 50 year-old actor looked exceptionally well, as he took to the red carpet alongside his co-star Olga Kurylenko to greet fans.

tomcruise

Mr Cruise chose to team a sophisticated pinstriped three piece suit, with a classic white shirt, and blue tie. The combination looked quite exquisite leaving the all-time favourite looking rather dapper, which no doubt impressed the ladies. Elegantly put together, the mixture of black and white, really complimented each other.

We at PAUSE might have to keep an eye out for more of the stylish actors ensembles!
