Based in Los Angeles and formed in 2009, Rook Brand was created under the knowledge of veteran graphic artists and childhood friends Jon Garcia and Joe King.
“In the Belly of the Beast” Fall 2013 collection represents the challenges faced while on the journey from conception to completion and although it is “no easy task”, the brand will never settle for “anything short of excellence.” This season is a huge expansion on the previous, with a blend of new graphic tees, premium fleece, accessories and their newest cut and sew category; seeing the creation of some brilliant pieces. This collection see’s L.A fashion photographer and style icon Adri Law guest photograph the collection and Adri explains that her intention of the lookbook was to “feel casual with somewhat of a tomboy look” and “maintain that L.A./California vibe.” This is certainly perceived in the photos with a really refreshing collection of shots.
Rook Brand’s strive for excellence means their hand-drawn graphics are incredibly detailed, whilst giving-off an edgy-punk feel, a norm to the brand’s street heritage and different direction that Rook Brand takes. Their new cut and sew garments infuses both brand identity and print. Although the print is stand-out, it is used controllably, showing the brand’s knowledge and its understanding of how to use all-over print the right way.
“In the Belly of the Beast” Fall 2013 is an exciting collection from Rook Brand and they have recently dropped part one of Fall 2013, with future drops coming soon, something we are certainly looking forward to in the coming weeks.
