Marc Jacobs revealed his seasonal Marc by Marc Jacobs collection at New York Fashion week.
A far cry from his name sake collection for A/W, shown in Milan this January. The latest collection is said to have been inspired by Japanese street style, with bold colours and patterns throughout.
Strong elements of sportswear are heavily present, through both the design and styling. Models were dressed in chunky trainers, and the use of long shorts under un-tucked shirts brings to mind a basketball player’s silhouette.
As well as mainstream sports, Judo made an appearance through the use of waist ties and thick cotton fabrics. Here at PAUSE Magazine, the use of bold colours and bomber jackets was a highlight of the collection that seems to have taken inspiration from racing drivers.
