Looks like Dr. Dre is joining the billionaires club!
Today via social media and through constant reports, announced the huge billionaire deal with Dr. Dre and Apple – making the mega music producer Dr. Dre the first billionaire in Hip Hop.
Apple are closing a deal with the headphone maker Beats by Dre for a $3.2bn (£1.9bn) takeover, which will make this California company’s largest ever acquisition.
“Since Dre and Interscope honcho Jimmy Iovine created the brand … it’s a safe bet they will walk away with a huge chunk of that cash,” TMZ reports. “Dre and Jimmy created the brand back in 2008 with headphones — but now they’re also making bank off speakers, car audio systems, and a streaming service.”
The deal is expected to be announced as early as next week and would include Beats’ streaming music service and its audio equipment business.
