Recently nominated for an LVMH Prize, menswear brand Orange Culture present their Spring/Summer 2017 lookbook and it is exuberant as ever. Overflowing with luxurious materials such as silk and organza, the collection features intricate bursts of colour and culture in an attempt to challenge societal hierarchy and play on attitudes of teenage rebellion and gender norms.

Orange Culture ensure their materials are sourced locally from Lagos and adopt traditional Nigerian tailoring to curate their looks. In a recent interview, Adebayo Oke-Lawal revealed that the current SS17 collection is inspired by school uniforms, and the lack of individuality and acceptance of ‘rejects’ and inspired by Oke-Lawal’s experience within school as an outsider. Notable pieces of the collection include a pair of hand-painted shoes courtesy of Nigerian artist Dricky.
