Stockx release an updated statement...
Reselling platform Stockx has counted to refute Nike counterfeit claims as they release yet another statement on the recent allegations from the global sportswear manufacturers.
Being a dispute that has already lasted several months, both Stockx and Nike don’t look to be backing down as the pair continue to go back and forth with each other, with the latest development seeing Stockx take another hit at Nike’s claims that the reselling platform sells counterfeit Nike products as well as use their brand name for their collection of Vault NFTs. Arguing that these are actually physical Nike products traded as digital ones online, Stockx labelled Nike’s claims as “baseless” whilst also underlining a firm belief in their sneaker authentication system, which has come under fire from Nike as they unveiled that they had evidence of fake Nike sneakers passing their authentication checks.
In a new statement made by Stockx, the platform stated the following:
“Despite numerous opportunities to offer feedback or criticisms, at no time in the past did Nike express concerns to StockX about its authentication processes.
The timing of Nike’s new allegation is suspicious. Nike alleged that they had counterfeit shoes months before they filed their initial complaint, but only added these claims after their lawsuit against StockX’s Vault NFT failed to gain traction or to win over public sentiment. Like Nike’s initial claims, Nike’s new allegations lack any merit.”
