Ready for the Ramps.
Amassing a cult following for his proven track record of blurring the lines between the worlds of high-fashion and skateboarding, THAMES MMXX founder Blondey McCoy has once again linked up with long-time collaborators adidas to take on one of its oldest silhouettes, the Pro Model.
“Making your own stuff from scratch is one thing. But being trusted with another brand’s DNA, to build on a tried-and-tested formula, to pen a chapter or even a paragraph in a book like this–it’s a great responsibility,” said Blondey McCoy.
Moving in the same vein as the 3-Stripes team rider’s see-through Superstar that was released back in 2019, the reimagined old school basketball shoe is similarly crafted from transparent plastic – a total U-turn from its usual leather construction. Rounded out with serrated stripes and metallic ‘BLONDEY’ lettering at the sidewalls, a Superstar-inspired shell toe, and a signature sockliner, the hi-top style debuts in two colourways: ‘Indigo’ and ‘Footwear White’.
The Blondey Pro Model ‘Indigo’ is set to be released on August 5th with its ‘Footwear White’ edition dropping on August 20th. Both pairs will be available via adidas on select stockists globally.
