KENZO x ASICS GEL-Kayano 20
High-fashion meets streetwear staple here as the KENZO x ASICS GEL-Kayano 20 ‘Multi Blue’ makes its mark on January. The standout pair has received mixed reviews so far, but the Nigo-designed effort remains unapologetic as blue and green tiger print sits pretty on the upper alongside various shades of light pink, orange, and black, whilst fuzzy laces add a much needed dose of texture.
Nike Zoom Vomero 5
Keeping sporty silhouettes in the mix, the new Nike Zoom Vomero 5 is undoubtedly the best yet, with the sportswear giants utilising a trusty black and white colourway to truly take this pair to the next level. Making sure to blend in with upcoming spring and summer wardrobes, this predominantly white mesh sneaker does exactly what it needs to for any self-respecting capsule wardrobe, with a bold dose of black adorning the Nike Swoosh as well as the caged midfoot and heel area, tastefully breaking up the colour blocking. A born hit.
Dr. Martens 'Gothic Americana' Adrian Loafer
Taking things back to the basics of footwear, this new take on a staple silhouette from Dr. Martens is a perfect storm, being both on-trend and made to last. Utilising the popular Cowboy-style themes that we’ve seen so prominently in this past six months, Dr. Martens are storming into a well deserved lead with his entry as their Adrian loafer arrives in a perfectly balanced styling, boasting a typical black Wanama leather composition, contrasting white embroidered designs, as well as a signature leather kiltie fringe and tassel. A pair for the long haul.
NOMA.td x Vans x END Sk8 Mids
The Vans Sk8 Mids are at this point a certified classic, with Japanese outfit NOMA.td coming together with luxury retailer END to recognise the greatness of the skating mainstay. Coming forward with a trio of efforts and designs, it’s the UA OG SK8-MID LX in the ‘Monks Robe & Antique White’ colourway that stands out, with the mid-top sneaker utilising a ready-to-rock canvas textile upper in a rich shade of brown, whilst NOMA t.d.’s hand-drawn floral bandana textiles and patterns add a playful touch. Additionally, consistent doses of branding are evident throughout the design as the Japanese label’s iconic mark is spotted across the shoe in addition to a scripted logo.
UGG Tasman Slippers
There is truly no stopping the UGG Tasman Slippers as the hyped comfort-centric silhouette makes its way into our top releases once again. Having already conquered various areas of the streetwear scene, including collaborations with the likes of Palace, UGG are continuing down their own path with this ‘Lavender Shadow’ take on the Tasman Slipper, with the low-riding shape opting for a dusty pink across the entirety of the upper as well as their signature cushioned midsole and subtle “UGG” ankle lettering. Beware, you won’t be able to take this pair off.
