A New Era is Upon Us.
After less than one year at the helm of Tom Ford’s namesake label, Peter Hawkings is stepping down from his role as creative director of the outfit.
Having been all change at Tom Ford as of late, the fresh starts only look set to continue as Peter Hawkings’ position at the brand has come to its premature end, with Hawkings yet to comment on his departure. With Tom Ford’s official sale to Estee Lauder and Zegna Group last year for a rumoured $2.8 billion deal, it was expected that Hawkings would be at the forefront of the brand moving forward, with a bigger focus on womenswear sales being a centre point of Zegna Group’s action plan.
In a statement about his exit, Tom Ford Fashion’s CEO – Lelio Gavazza – stated the following:
“I want to thank Pete for his collaboration since Tom Ford Fashion became part of the Ermenegildo Zegna Group. Along with his team, Peter has contributed to this important initial phase of development. I wish him all the best in his next chapter.”
An announcement on Peter Hawkings’ successor is expected to be imminent.
