Made of 18-karat Gold.
Rabanne, formally known as Paco Rabanne, have returned to the runway – and made quite the splash doing so.
Debuting an all gold look in the middle of their standout Spring/Summer 2025 show at Paris Fashion Week, Rabanne included a standout pure gold bag, which is composed out of 18-karat solid gold. Continuing to define and shape themselves in the modern age, this latest effort from Rabanne is labelled the “most expensive bag” in the world, underlining themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the luxury sphere once again.
Bridging the past with the present, Rabanne creative director Julien Dossena utilises the eye-catching 1969 Nano as a nod to the original “most expensive dress,” which was originally constructed out of a mix of gold and diamonds. Matching its SS25 dress, the piece delves deep into the archives, and more specifically into Paco Rabanne’s 1966 debut collection, titled “12 Unwearable Dresses in Contemporary Materials.” This original collection laid out the foundations of Rabanne’s luxurious vision, with the Spanish fashion designer opting for unconventional materials like plastic, paper, metals, and gold to create ready-to-wear silhouettes. The luxury fashion powerhouse formed the piece alongside French artisan jeweler Arthus Bertrand, who put 100 hours of work into creating the marvel.
Rabanne’s 18-karat 1969 Nano Bag will be priced at €250,000 EUR.
