It’s Coming.
It’s been months since Junya Watanabe and New Balance teased their sneaker-come-loafer hybrid, and they’re finally hitting stockists this month.
Originally debuted on the runway during Fall/Winter 2024, Junya Watanabe and New Balance linked up to offer customers the comfortability of NB sneakers with the pristine upper of a penny loafer. Soft leather is padded along the upper, with patented accents sewn throughout, including a penny loafer detail across the top of the foot. The sole is comprised of the New Balance 1906L, previously seen in old school lookbooks.
An obvious branded hit is seen on the toe box, with a spelled out Junya Watanabe Man script and a monochromatic 1906L on the lateral. The brand has previously launched a grey and white pair, which blew up on social media. The original has been met with mixed reviews, although users are seeming to enjoy the all black a bit more.
Stockists are due to drop the snoafer on October 18th for $330 USD. Check out imagery on the right.
