Bottega Veneta have forced our hand: it’s time to redecorate. Coming together with Italian lighting design brand Flos, Bottega Veneta have put forward a selection of special edition Model 600 table lamps.
Utilising their signature design palette to Gino Sarfatti’s iconic Model 600 design, Bottega Veneta x Flos perfects luxe home wear, taking Sarfatti’s revolutionary approach to material, form, and new lighting technology and combining it with their own simplified take on high fashion. Designed in 1966 – being the same year that Bottega Veneta was founded – Sarfatti made his big break with the Model 600 table lamp by subverting rigidity in atypical lighting fixtures, instead utilising a flexible base of lead shot pellets encased in smooth leather. In turn, this allowed the lamp sit on a table with a new kind of ease, providing more adaptable lighting angles.
Taking on the Bottega Veneta’s affection for supple shapes and smooth leather, Flos’ Model 600 boasts a developed leather base, being shaped in the form of the luxury Italian outfit’s classic Intrecciato and in Intreccio Foulard stylings. Keeping technology at the forefront of proceedings, the lamp comes equipped with the latest LED technology while keeping the traditional shape of the original light bulb. Being suitable for floor or table use, the new Model 600 emits a softened light and is available in small and large editions, donning signature Bottega Veneta colours of black, grey, red, emerald green, as well as their house green.
