Speculation is mounting.
Is Daniel Lee preparing to exit Burberry and take the reins at Jil Sander?
Recent reports highlight Burberry’s ambitious internal turnaround plans. Meanwhile, if the rumours prove true, Lee is set to succeed design duo Luke and Lucie Meier, who have led Jil Sander since April 2017. The Meiers will showcase their final collection during Milan’s upcoming women’s ready-to-wear season this February.
According to BoF, Burberry’s Joshua Schulman expressed confidence in the brand’s future, stating: “Now, we have a clear framework to reignite brand desire, improve our performance, and drive long-term value creation. Building on our strong foundations, I am confident that Burberry’s best days are ahead.”
From Bottega Veneta to Burberry, and now potentially to Jil Sander, Lee’s move would mark a return to Milan, where he departed as creative director of Bottega Veneta in late 2021.
