A Closer Look at Casablanca’s FW25 Collection ‘Kaizen’

A Harmonious Clash of Cultures.

Casablanca’s Autumn/Winter 2025 show in Paris was an exploration of cultural fusion, centred around the Japanese philosophy of “Kaizen,” meaning continuous improvement. Designer Charaf Tajer masterfully wove together disparate threads of Japanese culture, from the rebellious spirit of Bōsōzoku biker gangs to the refined elegance of traditional tailoring, creating a collection that was both visually arresting and conceptually rich.

This season marked Casablanca’s second deep dive into Japanese inspiration, and Tajer’s nuanced understanding of the country’s multifaceted identity shone through. The runway became a stage for a dynamic interplay of contrasts.

The collection seamlessly transitioned from sleek, city-ready looks to cosy, après-ski ensembles, reflecting the diverse landscapes of Japan. Tajer injected rave neon into his signature jacquards and knits, while Bōsōzoku details were refined into debossed leather jackets. Calligraphy and iconography from jumpsuits became prints and embroideries, merging tattoo art and Tokyo street imagery. Motorcycle artwork, with flames and orchids, fuelled vibrant prints and chrome finishes.
