Acne Studios conitues its collaboration Tove Jansson’s Moomin, launching a second 16-piece capsule collection for Fall/Winter 2025. Drawing from their shared Scandinavian heritage, this highly anticipated release features the whimsical Moomin characters across jersey, denim, knitwear, and accessories, all brought to life by Jansson’s charming animations.
With a focus on youthful self-expression, the collection merges the Moomin characters’ unique world with relaxed, unisex styles, punctuated by a dynamic acid yellow and baby pink color palette. Beloved figures including Little My, Snorkmaiden, Stinky, and the Hattifatteners appear as playful prints and patches. You’ll find them on Acne Studios’ emblematic 1981 jeans, striped shirting, vibrant T-shirts, sweaters, cosy knitwear, and a baseball cap. Customisation is also a highlight of the collection, with removable metal Moomin patches on classic lace-up sneakers and charming keyring adornments.A subtle detail across the collection is the Face logo, appearing as a small patch on ready-to-wear items and sneakers alike.
This partnership builds on Acne Studios’ initial Moomin collaboration from November 2024, born from a long-standing appreciation for Finnish artist and writer Tove Jansson’s utopian vision. Jansson’s magical Moomin world, first sketched in the late 1930s, debuted in print with The Moomin and the Great Flood in 1945. These cherished books, which promote tolerance, peace, and friendship, have been translated into over 60 languages and adapted for both television and film.
