A Nine-Year Tenure.
Following the speculation after the Cruise 2026 collection show this week, Dior has officially confirmed that Maria Grazia Chiuri is stepping down as its womenswear artistic director.
Chiuri, who joined Dior in 2016, certainly made her mark at the esteemed Maison. While some of her collections leant towards more traditional and classic designs, she also ushered in a feminine revolution, crafting highly wearable pieces that truly resonated with the diverse lives of modern women. Under her leadership, Dior experienced a period of significant growth, thanks to a combination of commercially successful products and powerful feminist-driven storytelling.
Her departure after nine years at the helm paves the way for the brand’s next chapter. Jonathan Anderson, named Dior’s menswear designer in April, is widely tipped to take over the women’s division as well.
