The Courrèges SS26 Pre-Collection Campaign: A Glimpse from the Streets of Paris

A Focus on Community.

Courrèges is stepping out of the conventional this season, moving their collection shoot from the studio to the vibrant streets of Paris. Nicolas Di Felice handed creative control to his community, acting as an observer as they interpreted the collection through their own lenses. Drawing inspiration from the “Mirrors of Paris” selfie phenomenon, eighteen muses—a mix of familiar faces such as Apolline Rocco Fohrer, Elodie Guipaud, Axel Gay, TOCCORORO, and Paul Barge, as well as Jacqui Hooper, Stella Hanan, Nastassia Legrand, and Samuel Elie—captured self-portraits that celebrate the visual language of our digital age. These raw, “mirror” images, set against the backdrop of Parisian landmarks, graffiti, and urban life, effortlessly integrate the collection into everyday reality, showcasing the Courrèges’ signature blend of refinement and realism.

In Nicolas Di Felice’s new collection, traditional silhouettes are reimagined, effortlessly blurring the lines between utility and formality. The trench coat’s belt and buckle emerge as a defining feature, reinvented as a blouson collar, a detail on sleek lycra pants, or even as the delicate straps of a cut-out top, embodying the collection’s interconnected themes. Heritage codes are expertly reinterpreted with surprising versatility. A classic 1964 cap sleeve shapes polo dresses and men’s tees, while micro-houndstooth tweed creates a chic mini-skort. Boxy football jerseys lend a casual edge to maxi-skirts, showcasing the adaptable nature of these iconic elements. Exaggerated volumes, minimalist sportswear, and refined workwear flow seamlessly across both men’s and women’s designs, emphasising a truly fluid approach to dressing.

A highlight of the collection is the new soft-shaped Strip bag, featuring an ingenious construction where contents are secured by magnetic flaps that can be worn open or closed, alongside a clasp. A discreet zipped pocket on top keeps valuables accessible. Practicality meets style with archive-inspired flats: folded kitten heels playfully emerge from flared pants, and glove-like boots recall the footloose energy of the Sixties, reimagining the 1965 flat boot. The collection’s subtle palette of translucent mint, powder pink, and bon-ton beige infuses primary House tones, creating a refreshing, everyday summer wardrobe.
