Balenciaga Celebrates a Decade of Demna with Retrospective Exhibition in Paris

By June 26, 2025FASHION NEWS

Staged at Kering’s historic Laennec site, the exhibition marks Demna’s final ready-to-wear collection for the House.

Balenciaga opens the doors to “Balenciaga by Demna”, a landmark retrospective curated by Demna himself, encapsulating his decade-long tenure at the House. Hosted inside Kering’s Laennec headquarters at 40 rue de Sèvres in Paris, the exhibition coincides with his final ready-to-wear collection, Spring 2026’s “Exactitudes.”

Spanning 30 collections from 2015 to 2025, the exhibition features 101 looks selected by Demna, including garments, accessories, and footwear that trace his radical redefinition of Balenciaga. Visitors begin their journey with a display of collection invitations before moving through installations exploring key themes: exaggerated proportions, upcycling, readymade objects, and his reinterpretation of Cristóbal Balenciaga’s legacy.

Fifty pieces are accompanied by audio commentary from Demna, while displays range from dry-cleaner hangers to hyperrealistic mannequins. Artist collaborations also feature, including a sculpture by Mark Jenkins and kinetic works by Andrew J. Greene.

A glossy, magazine-style catalogue complements the exhibition, which runs from the 26th June to 9th July, open to the public via registration here.
