A Visionary Journey to Osaka.
In a celebration of its deep-rooted connection to Japan, Louis Vuitton has unveiled two new exhibitions in Osaka, timed to coincide with the World Expo.
The first, titled “Visionary Journeys,” is an immersive experience at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art. It takes visitors on a transformative voyage through the house’s 170-year history, exploring its heritage, innovative spirit, and profound creative dialogue with Japan. With over 1,000 objects on display, including historical trunks and iconic collaborations with Japanese artists like Takashi Murakami and Yayoi Kusama, the exhibition is a testament to the brand’s enduring legacy and its continued role in shaping the art of travel.
Running in parallel, the Espace Louis Vuitton Osaka is also presenting “YAYOI KUSAMA – INFINITY,” a special exhibition dedicated to the iconic Japanese artist. As part of the Foundation Louis Vuitton’s “Hors-les-murs” program, this show offers a chronological journey through Kusama’s prolific career, from her early works to her most recent creations. The exhibition highlights her unique creative energy as a painter, sculptor, and designer, and it’s a rare opportunity to explore the unifying threads that have guided her practice.
Central to the Kusama exhibition is a seminal work, the first of her celebrated Infinity Mirror Rooms, which invites visitors to lose themselves in a world of endless polka dots and reflections. Through this and other key pieces, the show not only showcases Kusama’s work but also explores her philosophy of “self-obliteration” where the viewer becomes one with the art. Together, these two exhibitions offer a comprehensive and vibrant look at Louis Vuitton’s commitment to culture and its extraordinary relationship with the country that has so often inspired its creative vision.
The “Visionary Journeys” exhibition runs from July 15 to September 17, 2025, while the “YAYOI KUSAMA – INFINITY” exhibition is on view from July 16, 2025, to January 12, 2026.
