Slawn Unveils a New Customised Rolex Day-Date Hinting at Potential Collaboration

Another Collab in the Bag?

Nigerian-British artist Olaolu Slawn has once again sent ripples through social media, teasing a custom Rolex Day-Date that prominently features his signature, anarchic aesthetic. While Rolex maintains this specific piece is a modification rather than an official collaboration, it follows a highly sought-after, limited-edition project between Slawn and the luxury watchmaker in 2024.

The latest timepiece, first glimpsed via Corteiz founder Clint419’s social media, showcases Slawn’s distinctive clown motif set against a peach-toned dial with vibrant magenta accents, all framed by a classic gold case. Slawn himself later shared a detailed video, adding to the frenzy and hinting that the custom is “COMING SOON.”

This new custom watch builds on the momentum of Slawn’s 2024 venture with Rolex, which saw a mere 10 custom Datejust 41mm models produced. These ultra-exclusive pieces quickly became collector’s items, finding their way onto the wrists of high-profile figures such as Stormzy, Lil Yachty, and Dave, selling for approximately £15,000 each.

Slawn, known for his unique blend of street art and abstract expressionism that often explores themes of politics, race, and identity with a provocative edge, has had a banner year in 2025. His work has permeated diverse cultural landscapes, from a reimagined Formula 1 car and the Marni Fall/Winter 2025 collection to a Nike Air Max 90 drop and even Wembley Stadium.

While Rolex’s official statement clarifies that the current Day-Date piece is a modified watch and not an “official collaboration” in the same vein as a factory-produced series, the excitement surrounding it shows Slawn’s growing influence. The artist’s ability to infuse high-end luxury items with his instantly recognisable, bold artistic language continues to captivate a global audience.
