Supporting Young People Through Mission 44.
Lagos-born, London-based artist Soldier (Leonard Iheagwam) has launched a new charitable initiative: a limited-edition skateboard featuring a reinterpretation of his renowned painting, “Ozioma.” This artwork, originally inspired by his eldest sister, now features her in a vivid red dress with the Mission 44 logo emblazoned across the back.
Created in partnership with Lewis Hamilton’s Mission 44, this skateboard marks the first in a series of collaborations between Soldier and the foundation. Available for purchase next week at soldierstudio.net, all proceeds will directly support Mission 44’s efforts to empower young people in underserved communities.
This project continues Soldier’s dedication to fostering creative and social change through skate culture. His previous design, launched via Dover Street Market with Nigerian skate brand WAFFLESNCREAM, notably helped fund Nigeria’s first purpose-built skatepark in Lagos, which opened last year and was the most-bid item at the 2024 Mission 44 Gala. This new piece also follows his 2024 collaboration with Plus44 for their Silverstone collection, further extending his impactful visual narrative.
