The Biblioteca 2000.
New Balance and Portland rapper Aminé are teaming up again, this time for a fresh take on the classic 2000s runner. Unveiled by Aminé on his Instagram, the Biblioteca 2000 is set to drop on October.
The sneaker has a striking, futuristic look. It features an eye-catching acid green foundation with a high-gloss finish and glow-in-the-dark sole units. The design is inspired by the ABZORB 2000, a technical running shoe from the early 2000s known for its sleek upper and comfortable ABZORB cushioning. The special edition shoe comes in custom packaging, paying homage to the bookdrop at the North Portland Branch Library and featuring Aminé’s custom New Balance logo.
Beyond the stylish design, Aminé is using the release to give back to his community. He’s encouraging fans to donate a book to the Portland Library for a chance to win a free pair.
