PAUSE Highlights: Copenhagen Fashion Week SS26 Trend Report

PAUSE rounds up the hottest trends from Copenhagen Fashion Week SS26.

Copenhagen Fashion Week has wrapped up another season, and as per usual, the Scandinavian capital has emerged as a hotspot and reliable source of trends. With a week full of events and shows, all the fashion enthusiasts came ready and the “uniform” of the streets depended on who you asked. For the next season, PAUSE dives into the ultimate trend report.

Flip Flops Everywhere

We saw this coming, no surprises here. Havaianas hinted at it first, and while flip flops have long been a staple in parts of South America or Asia, this season they’re infiltrating everyday outfits in colder climates, too. Whether paired with socks or worn bare, they’re the laid-back, borderline rebellious answer to over-styled footwear.

Head Garments

No more typical hats. From berets to sculptural, opulent headpieces, the statement accessory of the season is all about what’s happening above the shoulders. Drawing inspiration from cultures such as African dandy silhouettes or traditional ceremonial wear, this isn’t just a style moment it’s a cultural statement woven into fashion that promises to be on everyone’s wardrobe.

Mix Of Patterns

Forget “matching.” The streets were a walking collage of plaids clashing with florals, polka dots layered over animal print, and stripes running alongside psychedelic swirls. The rule is simple: if it looks “too much,” it’s probably just enough. This maximalist approach makes styling more personal, chaotic, and fun.

Fringes

Fringes are no longer confined to boho summer dresses, we saw them dripping from leather jackets, trousers, and even shoes, offering a textural contrast: sheer yet edgy, sometimes layered over bold prints or worn with visible underlayers for a unique fit. Are you vibing to this trend?

New Denim

Basically, why wear the same old pair of denim jeans when you can explore new silhouettes, shapes, and details? Copenhagen pushed the boundaries: ultra-wide legs, asymmetric hems, deconstructed waistlines, and denim-on-denim layering. The once “basic” blue jean is evolving into a statement piece in its own right.

Stripes

Is this the pattern of the next season? Absolutely. Thick, thin, vertical, horizontal, and even warped appeared on everything from suiting to knitwear. It’s a classic being reimagined for the bold.

Punk Era

Every story has two sides, and Copenhagen’s is no different. In sharp contrast to the colourful and playful looks, there’s a rise in punk-infused, darker wardrobes, maybe the Chopova Lowena effect? Whether it’s studded belts, shredded skirts, or going full Rick Owens in all-black leather, the city embraced its moodier edge.
