Chiuri is back.
FENDI confirmed today that Italian designer Maria Grazia Chiuri is returning to the house as Chief Creative Officer. Although rumours had been circulating for some days—following Silvia Venturini Fendi’s decision to step down as Creative Director and take on the role of Honorary President of the Roman Maison—the news has now been made official.
“Maria Grazia Chiuri is one of the greatest creative talents in fashion today, and I am delighted that she has chosen to return to FENDI to continue expressing her creativity within the LVMH group, after sharing her bold vision of fashion,” said Bernard Arnault, Chairman and CEO of the LVMH Group.
Chiuri returns to the house where her career first began in 1989, after graduating from the Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome. Following her acclaimed tenures at Valentino and Dior, she now comes back to where it all started—this time as Chief Creative Officer.
As Ramon Ros, FENDI’s Chairman and CEO, explains: “The role is no longer simply about designing beautiful clothes, but about curating a culture and holding a mirror to the world we live in. Her talent and vision will be instrumental in fortifying FENDI’s heritage, shaping future talent within the house, and deepening our commitment to Italian craftsmanship.”
Maria Grazia Chiuri will unveil her first collection—FENDI Autumn/Winter 2026–2027—in Milan next February.
