Dior Confirms Jonathan Anderson’s First Cruise Show in Los Angeles

Welcome back to the West Coast.

It has been revealed that Jonathan Anderson will present his first cruise collection for Dior in Los Angeles on 13th May. Whilst the house has only confirmed the date, the exact venue is set to be announced closer to the event.

The timing of this announcement aligns with Diors growing presence in the city, following the recent debut of the brand’s Rodeo Drive flagship designed by American architect Peter Marino. If we look back at history, Los Angeles is no stranger to Dior’s runway history. Maria Grazia Chiuri introduced her first cruise collection in 2017 in the hills of Calabasas, where two hot air balloons carrying the name of the mens fragrance “Sauvage” floated behind the show space. Kim Jones then later selected the Venice neighbourhood of Los Angeles to reveal his resort 2023 mens collection, developed in partnership with local designer Eli Russell Linnetz.

Anderson’s upcoming showcase adds a new chapter to this ongoing relationship between Dior and the West Coast, setting the stage for a standout moment in the upcoming cruise season.

What are your thoughts? After so many defining shows in the city, what new vision will Anderson bring to the California landscape?
