Duality takes center stage in RIO’s next chapter.

A new chapter unfolds for The Rio World with the debut of RIO’s Spring Summer 2026 collection at The Broad in downtown Los Angeles. Titled “A Poem and a Protest,” the presentation captures a duality that sits at the heart of the brand’s evolution. For Creative Director Rio Uribe, it marks an important moment as the house continues to shape a fresh vision following its rebrand from Gypsy Sport.

The playful side of the collection embraces color, creativity, and movement. Plaids appear in bold compositions, and whimsical polka dots are draped into fluid silhouettes. Reflective materials are crafted into handmade statement pieces that catch and transform light. These designs feel flirtatious and forward looking, pushing the brand’s innovative craftsmanship into new territory.

The resistant side brings a different emotional register, with quilted textiles cut into structured shapes with utilitarian details. These pieces are urban and street-savvy, creating wearable armor for “the modern non-conformist.” The collection shows duality, and the garments shape a wardrobe that shifts from day to night.

The Broad served as a fitting backdrop for the unveiling. The museum’s atmosphere of art and culture elevated the presentation, reinforcing the collection’s feel of emotional storytelling. RIO upholds its dedication to gender-fluid design and artisanal techniques, and the collection continues the brand’s commitment to inclusivity, craft, and cultural expression.

The unveiling of “A Poem and a Protest” marks a confident step forward for The Rio World. The Spring Summer 2026 collection is now available.
