An Unforgettable Boutique Stay in the Heart of Paris!

Paris, the City of Light, remains one of the world’s most diverse and ever-growing hubs of art, culture and that indescribable “je ne sais quoi”. It is also home to one of the most vibrant and diverse hospitality scenes globally. In recent years, the city’s hotel outlook has shifted as travellers increasingly favour unique, characterful boltholes over popular chains. Renowned for its boutique hotels, Paris is celebrated for properties rooted in history, charm and individuality.
Located on Rue de Picardie in the historic 3rd arrondissement, at the heart of Le Marais, Maison Proust is one of the city’s most recent and sought-after boutique openings. The hotel officially opened its doors in January 2023 as part of the Maisons Particulières Collection and has since firmly established itself within the Parisian hospitality scene. Conceived as a tribute to the celebrated French author Marcel Proust, the hotel draws inspiration from Belle Époque salons, favouring service over sheer scale, antiques over modernism, and character over adopted trends.
The hotel was conceived behind the group’s Maison Souquet property and designed by acclaimed interior architect Jacques Garcia. The result is a theatrical, richly textured interior layered with velvet, gilding, hand-painted ceilings and artful objets d’art that tell the story of Proust’s life and work through a lens of Parisian nostalgia. Recognised by Architectural Digest as one of “The Best Hotels in Paris for Impeccable Design”, the hotel is petite and intentionally intimate. It is designed to feel like a private Parisian residence rather than a conventional hotel, with intricate custom details that create an atmosphere that feels opulent and sophisticated from the moment you step inside.

Rooms & Suites:

Maison Proust is home to just 23 rooms and suites spread across six floors, with categories ranging from Luxury Rooms to spacious three-bedroom Executive Suites. Each space is unique in character, with decor inspired by Proust’s life and his seminal novel In Search of Lost Time. Expect statement wallpapers, carved mantels, lavish velvets, gold panelling and carefully curated art throughout. Thoughtful amenities further enhance the sense of luxury, including Nespresso coffee stations, plush bathrobes and high-quality bedding.

Dining & Drinking:

Dining at Maison Proust takes place in the ground-floor salons, which operate as a through-day living room and provide an intimate setting for breakfast and evening cocktails, with a focus on comfort rather than formality. Breakfast is served in the elegantly decorated Winter Garden and follows a traditional French à la carte format. In the evening, guests are invited to explore classic and carefully curated cocktails in the softly lit bar, which features a grand fireplace and creates a warm, enchanting atmosphere. The bar has become a destination in its own right, appealing to both guests and locals seeking a discreet yet chic setting.

Spa La Mer:

Tucked away on the hotel’s lower ground floor, the Spa La Mer is a collaborative retreat between the leading skincare brand La Mer and Maison Proust, and one of the property’s main attractions. Designed as a cocooning wellness space, the spa features a mosaic-lined pool, a steam room and private treatment rooms. Guests can book exclusive access to the pool and steam room, ensuring a private and deeply relaxing experience. Treatments use La Mer products, with a menu of bespoke facials and massages designed to restore and rejuvenate, making the spa a standout feature of the hotel.

What’s More:

Beyond its accommodations and spa, Maison Proust stands out for its attention to detail and sense of privacy. The hotel’s small number of rooms ensures personalised and tailored service, allowing guests to feel truly at home. The on-site library, filled with curated books and a stunning ceiling feature reminiscent of the Palais Garnier, provides a quiet nook for reading or reflection, enhancing the hotel’s intimate, salon-like atmosphere. The surrounding area of Le Marais is home to galleries, boutiques, restaurants, popular landmarks and convenient public transport connections, while the hotel itself offers a serene sanctuary to return to. Whether visiting as a couple, with friends, or on business, Maison Proust delivers an experience that is both upscale and distinctly Parisian.
