Refinery Hotel, a member of the Small Luxury Hotels group and recognised by the Michelin Guide, has earned quite the reputation as one of the city’s hotel hot spots for both locals and tourists. Located on West 38th Street and set within the former Colony Arcade building, a 20th century structure that once housed a hat factory and tea salon, the hotel is also known for being one of Midtown’s most stylish boutiques. The building’s past is ingrained in the core of the Refinery’s identity. Rather than disguising its industrial origins, the hotel leans into them and it is one of the properties most distinctive design elements. Original architectural features, lofty proportions and robust materials are finished with contemporary touches to create spaces that feel New York through and through. The lobby sets the tone with stone detailing, curated artwork and a club-like energy that shapes the experience. Throughout the property, exposed textures, custom furnishings and moody lighting create a sense of cosiness and evening vibes.
