Onitsuka Tiger’s Sneakers for Versace Have Finally Landed

When form meets force.

Having debuted during Dario Vitale’s seasonal stint back in September, Onitsuka Tiger’s collaboration with Versace has finally landed globally.

Blending Southern European and East Asian influences, the sneaker draws on the heritage of both brands. Based on Onitsuka’s TAI-CHI Sakura model, the design is constructed in suede, nappa and metallic fabrics, finished in Versace’s signature colour palette. Produced at the Onitsuka Innovative Factory in Tottori, Japan, the pair leans into a more elevated level of craftsmanship.

Shot through the lens of Frank Lebon, the campaign captures the energy of the collaboration, centred around movement and physicality. At its core is the TAI-CHI Sakura, a reworked take on Onitsuka Tiger’s classic tai-chi trainer. The sneaker is available now via Versace’s website and in selected stores. What are your thoughts on the silhouette?
