HN X #BEENTRILL# X KIM JONES
Kim Jones, known for shaking up menswear fashion, has delved into his KIM JONES ARCHIVE to reinvent a few of his favoured pieces. The capsule collection has a strong sport lux influence and features a printed cotton short-sleeve shirt from his 2011 collection with Korean brand Beanpole, worn over classic cotton shorts and layered with the jersey zip down jacket from his fall 2007 show. The collection also features a white cropped bomber jacket and airtex t shirt with a harness overlay.
HN X #BEENTRILL# X HARDY AIMES
Savile Row veteran, Hardy Aimes capsule collection combines tailoring with technical pieces of outerwear to create a monochromatic aesthetic. Showcasing a jacquard tuxedo alongside a reversible gillet in black nylon and an exclusively woven HA monogram wool/silk, a double breasted shearling coat, a black leather biker jacket and a shorthaired calf overcoat. The overall feel of the collection is a unique combination of pieces that questions the nature of modernity within menswear.
HN X #BEENTRILL# X GARETH PUGH
Taking a new approach to menswear, Gareth Pugh, brings the theatre of avant garde to the streets by introducing cape backed jersey tops and winged trousers. Pugh uses a variety of fabrics from perforated leather, mesh, metal fringing and high shine finishes to a collection that dares to challenge traditional masculine styles
HN X #BEENTRILL# X SHAUN SAMSON
Making a statement, Shaun Samson has been inspired by Malachite and Howlite rocks, scaling up the natural details in the stone to create an abstract ‘Rock Collection’. Samson keeps the silhouettes simple, opting for oversized sweaters, t-shirts and drawstring shorts that feature buckle details and chunky zips. The collection is deliberately wearable and minimalist in construction; ensuring these pieces can be worn dressed up or down.
HN X #BEENTRILL# X MR HARE
To complete the collection, Mr Hare has exclusively designed 3 pairs of leather trainers with embossed #hashtag features and high shine panels. The Mr Hare #BEENTRILL# sneaker pack is a limited run of the ‘Black Jack Johnson’ High Tops, the ‘Cunningham’ Low Tops and the ‘Llewelyn’ skate shoes, all made from the signature fine Italian calf leather with the #BEENTRILL# logos applied by silicone injection moulding.
HN X #BEENTRILL# X LINDA FARROW
No summer collection would be complete without sunglasses, so Linda Farrow has developed two exclusive pairs, based on their signature styles. Using a contemporary black rubberised material and clear shiny acetate to adorn the iconic ‘D-Frames’ square style sunglasses, which are chunky with an angular rim. The sunglasses feature straight top lens frame line that curves smoothly to a bulging nose bridge and elegant gold plated titanium studs, on the ridge top corners, as well as on the topframe attached temples.

New Balance expands their footwear into football.
New Balance launches the brand’s first football advertisement ‘#NBFootball’; aimed at encapsulating New Balance’s approach to the sport. Directed by award winning filmmaker Marie Schuller, the film stars New Balance Football athletes Aaron Ramsey, Adnan Januzaj, this Samir Nasri, Fernando Reges, Vincent Kompany, Jesus Navas and Marouane Fellaini.
The New Balance film highlights the commitment it takes to become a better athlete and the never-ending drive to improve. It’s not about one victory, one run or one goal. It’s about every victory, every run and every goal. It emphasises how football is more than 90 minutes, more than 11 versus 11 and more than just winning – it’s the commitment to carry on, to not rest or ever take it easy.
Set against the backdrop of a giant LED screen, we see the players being put through their paces as graphics communicate how New Balance – and their athletes – are relentlessly driven to be better and go further, every minute of every session, every day of every season.
Director Marie Schuller – who previously filmed campaigns for a number of high profile fashion brands and retailers – gives the film its unique, highly graphic and stylized look. She says: “This film is all about striving to be better. The New Balance players each have immense talent but that alone is not enough, becoming a better athlete is the motivation that drives them on. Each scene aims to capture the relentless pursuit of excellence, the fact they never stop pushing to improve. Stylistically we set out to create a cool and contemporary film which was different to anything the category would do.”
The anthemic music track that accompanies the film and which exudes the high energy of the brand is an original composition by Chris Karloff from Black Onassis, a former member of the indie rock band Kasabian.
Kenny McCallum, Global Brand Manager for Football at New Balance says about the brand’s first football ad: “We want to communicate the essence and attitude of New Balance Football. The heart of the concept is how we – and our athletes – are relentlessly driven to be better. We are highly competitive, innovative and fearless and we place the player at the centre of everything we do. We want to show the stories and reality behind what we see on the pitch – the constant hard work our brand and players put in to be better.”
The first collection of New Balance boots will be available at retail from July 2015.
