Currently showing at MCA Chicago, Figures Of Speech is the first exhibition outlining Virgil Abloh’s work – from Pyrex to Louis Vuitton and everything in between.
The exhibition gives a look into the samples from Virgil’s hyped Nike collaboration, including a look at exclusive sneakers that never made it to production. The most notable of these are a few different Air Jordan 4 colourways that, of course, include instantly recognisable quotation marked branding.
An extensive collection of samples, the exhibition piece provides an interesting insight into how sneakers are produced and go from an idea to selling on shelves, with some pairs on show not completely finished.
