Round 2!
Following on from the success of their collaboration earlier this year, sportswear giant Nike is releasing another capsule collection with Stüssy. It will include a range of garments, along with footwear and accessory options.
After having released the Spiridon Caged sneaker, which sold out almost immediately, the two labels have confirmed that the rumours of a new collaborative sneaker are true. Dubbed the Air Kukini, the shoe is a fusion between the Nike Air Kukini and Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2, which released in the early 00’s. The new sneaker will be available in two colourways: Black/Bright Cactus and White/Habanero Red.
Possibly a reference to Stüssy’s surfing roots, the beach is a recurring theme in this collection, with the below lookbook having been shot against the backdrop of a seaside transitioning from day to night.
The garments continue this theme, featuring a t-shirt that is printed with the slogan “International Beach Crew” and beach slides included in the drop. Further inspiration is taken from running, as nylon tracksuits and shorts are accompanied by a T-Shirt that replicates those created for participants of races. The tee’s backprint includes a large body of text beginning with “Running is mindful it offers access to a mixed headspace.”
