Having already worked with The North Face, Timberland and True Religion for Autumn 2021, Supreme’s latest collaboration is with JUNYA WATANABE COMME des GARÇONS MAN.

Japanese designer Junya Watanabe began his career as a patternmaking apprentice at COMME des GARÇONS after graduating in 1984 and has continued to work with the label since its founder and creative director Rei Kawakubo discovered his huge talents. Having also launched his own line since then, the designer is known for his experiments in construction and shape, often working with patchwork techniques that bring together varying fabrics and bringing a utilitarian flair to more experimental designs.

For this collaborative collection, the brand’s have looked to one of Watanabe’s most well-known collections. The designer’s 2001 debut menswear collection for COMME des GARÇONS saw the designer print excerpts of poetry onto a range of garments from jeans to shirts and continues to be a popular collection amongst archival fashion fans. For this collaboration, poetry is printed onto a gore-tex tracksuit, work jacket and wide-leg trousers.

These poetry-focused pieces are presented alongside other items which use Watanabe’s signature design traits of patchwork and flannel fabrics along with a range of bold graphics that depict scenes such as a deep-water diver, a robot-like bug with feet and collegiate iconography.

Check out the full collection below, which is releasing on the Supreme website on November 4 and November 6 in Japan.
