The last two years have wreaked havoc inside the fashion industry. One of the reasons why, is that brands couldn’t find the raw material they needed to create their line, as easily as they did before. It derailed a lot of things, including logistics and retail operations, which is why you don’t find such brands as Adidas, Zara and Uniqlo, not even on the top 30. Let’s concentrate here on the three brands that currently reign supreme and why they are.
Number One: Gucci
Generation Z is taking the fashion industry by a storm. The latest gen to come on the scene has chosen Gucci as their favourite luxury brand, which definitely helped it to get to the top, this year. It is due in great part to the select prints and embroideries that the brand features, that it managed to catch their attention. You can be sure that when you find a Gucci label on a piece of clothing, it reflects the quality of the brand, which it has always been known for; a quality of material and print just like the labels that you can find at Wunderlabel. Another element that helped to gain new customers from Gen Z, is the fact that the brand chose to dress Billie Eilish and Harry Styles at the Grammy’s, two of their favourite singers.
Number Two: Dior
Moving from Italy at number one, to France at number two, with another luxury brand. In the case of Dior, the company takes its revenues mostly from shoes and clothing. If they managed to rank so high on the list, it is probably because they were able to make women feel like women, throughout the last years. That is of outmost importance, as during the pandemic years, most designers chose comfort over femininity. It seems like that may have been a bad decision, after all. The fact that they offered a contract to Jin Xing, a transgender personality, to represent their fragrance, certainly was a big plus for them, as well as unveiling a collaboration with Sacai, regarding menswear.

Number Three: Nike
The secret of the brand to remain popular over the years, is that they put the emphasis on people, in their marketing campaigns, instead of products. To do so, they collaborate with athletes, celebrities and people. One that made the news for them, and helped them gain their rank, was Serena Williams. The famous tennis woman was the face of the new Design Crew Collection, which gained an increase of 16%, by the end of 2021. The company enables America to find itself on the fashion podium, even though it only takes third place. Its revenues are skyrocketing, and it is greatly due to the love that their customers show them. They were also able to increase their online sales like no other brand did, last year, as they raised them by 59%.
This year should be another turbulent one. Therefore, don’t be surprise to potentially find three different brand names at the top of the fashion industry, in 2023.
