Maison Margiela’s ‘ear to the ground’ sub-label – titled MM6 Maison Margiela – looks primed to step forward for an all-new footwear collaboration this year as a Dr. Martens collaboration surfaces.
Set to be a Fall/Winter 2024 release, this joint effort between MM6 Maison Margiela and Dr. Martens stands alone as the first collective capsule between the two, and it hasn’t disappointed. First debuting at the MM6 Maison Margiela FW24′ runway show earlier last month in Paris, the new capsule make sure to utilise the best of both worlds for this slew of footwear choices, with the ankles of classic Dr. Martens boots being melded with loafer silhouettes and classic derby shoes, forming an archetypal double take shoe. The capsule makes sure to stay true to Dr. Martens’ roots as their signature silhouette stay largely unchanged, as does their sleek black and burgundy colour schemes, with the silhouettes themselves including two separate burgundy and black steel-toe lace-up 1461 shoes combined with a black pebbled leather boot ankle adorning signature MM6 Maison Margiela number branding, as well as a reversed black loafer utilising an underlaying burgundy 1461 ankle and a co-branded footbed.
No official release date has arrived for this MM6 Maison Margiela x Dr. Martens collaboration as of yet, but stay tuned to PAUSE for more information.
