Los Angeles born outfit ERL are back at it with denim powerhouses Levi’s for a new West Coast-inspired collection, marking their second collaborative effort together.
What becomes even more abundantly clear here is that ERL are suckers for nostalgia, with this latest entry into their ongoing Levi’s partnership seeing the youthful brand tap back into their affections for different subcultures – and more specifically, skating and biker lifestyles. Coming through with some colourful campaign imagery, this retro-tinged selection sees a uniform come to light as matching bootcut jeans lead the way alongside a denim biker-style vest, light wash denim jeans, a skirt, overalls, and a purse. Staying true to their previous capsule, ERL x Levi’s once again utilises orange stitched “ERL” lettering across many of the pieces, adding a sense of notability, whilst zip-zag patterning, sherpa vest linings, and frayed edges break up the collection and give each piece individual personality, all the while maintaining a linear design ethos. The standout piece from the collection proves to be the denim purse, which debuts in an upcycled-style design as features include a denim jean-inspired composition, including signature five pockets and button closures.
The second ERL x Levi’s collection will release via the Levi’s website on May 9th.
