There’s pre-worn, and then there’s Willy Chavarria’s new luxury underwear range.
The standout New York-based designer – who most recently won the 2024 American Menswear Designer of the Year award – comes through with a rather transparently named collection of pre-dirtied underwear: “Dirty Willy Underwear.” Going for a tongue-in-cheek approach (and then some), the latest effort from Willy Chavarria sees a range of high-quality made in Peru under garments come adorned with ultra-realistic sweat marks and urine stains, in addition to pre-distressed rips and holes around the waist. Inspired by the “erotic notions of queer fetish culture,” Willy Chavarria’s latest venture takes a truly one-of-one approach to sensuality.
In a statement about the release, Willy Chavarria said the following:
“The underwear experience is our most intimate moment when dressing and undressing. We want to feel sexy for ourselves and others. WILLY underwear is boldly sensual. And this is just the beginning.”
