Adidas Originals Unveils A-Type: A New Era of Luxury Sportswear

Reimagining Icons from the Three Stripes’

Adidas Originals is stepping into a new realm of elevated design with the launch of its A-Type collection. This premium line reimagines iconic adidas silhouettes with meticulous craftsmanship, luxurious materials, and a focus on timeless style. A-Type represents a significant move for the brand, going further than a simple collaboration into a space of refined, in-house creations.

The debut A-Type collection features three classic pieces: the Superstar sneaker, the Firebird tracksuit, and the Airliner bag. Each piece has been carefully reconstructed with premium materials and an unparalleled attention to detail.

The A-Type Superstar, handmade in Italy, is a stunning recreation of the shoe’s original prototype. It boasts a supple leather upper, a debossed canvas texture on the Three Stripes, and cashmere laces with detachable silver-plated tips. The shoe also incorporates a Lightstrike Pro midsole for enhanced comfort. The Firebird tracksuit, a staple of streetwear culture, is reimagined in luxurious leather, elevating it far beyond its athletic origins. The collection includes a track jacket, track pants, and shorts, all crafted with the same level of detail and quality.

Another highlight of the collection are the must-have accessories. The Airliner bag, originally a practical carryall for athletes, returns in two sizes, both made from premium Italian leather with cotton lining and high-end hardware. dabbling in jewellery, adidas also unveils a line of sterling silver jewellery featuring the iconic Trefoil logo, adding a touch of understated elegance to the collection.

To launch A-Type, adidas Originals enlisted stylist Matthew Henson and photographer Gabriel Moses to create a campaign that showcases the creativity behind the collection. The campaign features a diverse group of cultural pioneers, including Pusha T, Tyshawn Jones, Paloma Elsesser, and others, highlighting the collection’s connection to music, fashion, and sport.

While the initial release of the A-Type is limited to friends and family of the brand, adidas has confirmed that wider releases are planned for the future. With its focus on quality, craftsmanship, and design, the A-Type collection is poised to become a new standard in luxury sportswear.
