Mugler has named Miguel Castro Freitas as its new creative director, succeeding Casey Cadwallader, who recently concluded a nearly eight-year tenure with his Fall 2025 lookbook.
Freitas, a Portuguese designer, brings a wealth of experience, having graduated in womenswear fashion design from Central Saint Martins and held senior design roles at Sportmax, Dries Van Noten, and Christian Dior Couture. His impressive resume includes positions at Dior under John Galliano, Yves Saint Laurent with Stefano Pilati, and Lanvin under Alber Elbaz. Notably, he also served as Head of Tailoring at Christian Dior under Raf Simons and Head of Womenswear at Dries Van Noten.
Freitas will commence his role on April 1st and present his debut collection for the Spring-Summer 2026 season during Paris Fashion Week this fall.
