This September, Mulberry marks the return of its iconic Roxanne bag with a campaign that goes beyond fashion to embrace storytelling and imagination. Shot by longtime collaborator Tim Walker and styled by Kate Phelan, the campaign stars BAFTA- and Academy Award-nominated actor Cynthia Erivo in a set of surreal, richly textured environments. Rope swings, fireplaces, decorative carpets, you name it – have created a dreamlike stage where Mulberry’s playful, imaginative ethos comes to life.
Accompanying Walker’s striking images is ‘Mulberry Moment’s, a softly shot video series featuring Erivo in conversation with designer and host Recho Omondi. Across eight intimate shorts, they explore topics ranging from Erivo’s first Mulberry bag to her childhood in London, and the emotional resonance that links fashion with music and performance.
The campaign also celebrates the Roxanne’s evolution. Alongside the 2004 original, the bag now expands into four modern iterations, including updated shoulder and mini shoulder styles. While the collection nods to the Y2K and punky attitude of the original, the campaign positions Mulberry in 2025 as a brand that blends heritage with imagination, artistry, and personal storytelling.
