Someone once said: ‘the shoes maketh the man’. I may have made this up, but shoes are very important when deciding what to wear. Shoes have the power to complete a look, or send it to the dustbin.
The reinvention of classic style formal shoes shows no signs of abaiting with Japanese label Sophnet releasing wing tipped shoes as part of their Spring/Summer 2013 collection. What gives this collection a twist is that the shoes are in collaboration with Tricker’s, English Shoemakers since 1829. Although the collaboration is East meets West, the classic shoe design remains untouched.
The range goes from traditional colours, such as black and brown, to more interesting styles, such as white shoes with a silver wing tip, black patent wing tips, and for the more patriotic among you, a pair in red, white and blue.
Even though the wing tipped shoe is older than the Queen, Sophnet’s Spring/Summer collection brings the classic right into the wardrobe of a new generation of gentlemen.
