Pause or Skip: The Sneaker-Heel Hybrid by Converse x Vaquera

With Kim Petras in tow.

Reuniting for their latest collaboration, Converse and the New York-born label introduce the VX-1 Heel, a new silhouette that pulls from the Converse archive to bring two seemingly opposing worlds together. Inspired by the padded construction of the CS Pro-1 skate shoe, the design swaps the expected flat sole for an elevated heel, balancing skate-inspired details with a distinctly subversive, after-dark attitude.

The VX-1 Heel arrives with a perforated suede upper, padded mesh tongue, wide laces threaded through molded eyestay covers and translucent detailing at the heel pull. Co-branded accents and Converse’s signature Star Chevron complete the design, grounded by a gum rubber forefoot outsole. The release marks the next chapter in Converse and Vaquera’s ongoing creative partnership, following their 2025 reinterpretation of the Chuck Taylor All Star through the XXXHi Slouch Wedge and XHi Slouch Wedge. Where those styles pushed the familiar canvas icon into exaggerated, slouchy proportions, the VX-1 takes a different route entirely. The Converse x Vaquera VX-1 Heel launches on October 27.
