47 Brand, the iconic sports and lifestyle company, continues to deliver on function and style when it comes to their latest headwear and apparel ‘College Collection’, something it has done for 65 years.
Originally named ‘Twins’ after twin founders Arthur and Henry D’Angelo moved over to America where they made a living shining shoes and selling newspapers. In 1947, the brothers noted Americans love and passion for sport and therefore started to create crafted felt pennants.
The birth of Twins was when they opened a store across from Fenway Park, which then sparked the brand into life to sell souvenirs across baseball stadiums across the country. Fast forward to 2005, Twins began working with a small apparel brand to establish a distinct fit, feel and finish. Now, 47 Brand has become one of the most revered lifestyle brands.
The brand now creates premium headwear and apparel that takes more than just influences from sport. Their latest ‘College Collection’ infuses together preppy collegiate styles with attention to detail through their embroidered college beanies and melton wool caps. A series of simple logo and typography driven crews and tees offer a bold varsity option, whilst maintaining its core sporting heritage styles.

Although many people will have just gone on their annual Christmas break, it is worth remembering that once the festive season is over it wont be long until the days begin to lengthen again. This can only mean that warmer weather wont be far behind. With each season offering an incomprehensible scale of options, it is worthwhile first looking at those brands that we know, trust and subsequently love. One of these being Carhartt WIP (Work In Progress).
With the focus being on a casual street wear aesthetic, chambray reigns supreme as the fabric of choice. Often paired with stripes and bold detailing. Camo and other urban/tropical prints meander throughout the range appealing to those with a more trend led eye. With colour being key to the Carhartt look too, this collection remains as strong in that sense as any other. Neon yellow, tan and forest greens form a vibrant palette, that becomes versatile combined with the loose fitting designs and wearable separates.
A mix and match approach remains identifiable throughout, the key to styling this brand is simply wearing what you are in the mood to wear. Clash colours and prints and have fun, after all it is for sunny Spring after all…
The new collection will be available to purchase in the near future.
