The American Music Awards 2014 Red Carpet
The American Music Awards was held on the 23rd of November, 2014, at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Taking place live in Los Angeles, California, the event saw the most popular music artists come together to celebrate the awards. The womenswear red carpet was heated, from Zendaya, Jennifer Lopaz, Selena Gomez to the Jenners and Khloe Kardashian, but we at PAUSE had to give you guys a low down on the menswear at the American Music Awards. We’ve put together our favourites with a PAUSE, and the one’s that simply didn’t make the cut with a skip.
Check out the red carpet looks at the AMAs below:
PAUSE: Winning the award for the Favourite Male Artist, this year has nothing but success for Sam Smith. His red carpet appearance was consistent and straightforward, Sam opted for a handsome black suit, cobalt blue button-down and black mock shoes.
PAUSE: Ne-Yo returns at the American Music Awards in deep blue suited attire, we at PAUSE truly love how he has executed this look effortlessly. Completing his dapper the look with the a pair of brown classic mocks.
PAUSE: One Direction dressed in one colour. The boys matched in head-to-toe black ensembles with gold/brown detailing within their looks. Winning artist of the year, the AMAs was a successful night for the boys.
SKIP: Definitely a skip. We don’t like how Lance Bass styled this look together. The bow tie and jeans wasn’t need. But we do love the blazer.
PAUSE Tip: Take off the bow tie and wear some altered trousers instead.
SKIP: Hip-Hop star Wyclef Jean returned to the scene at the American Music Awards last night. Dressed in all black leather, we at PAUSE wasn’t sure whether give this a PAUSE or SKIP but because of how much leather was forced onto this look we had to skip. (The studded leather jacket – PAUSE!)
PAUSE: Jessie J made her official red carpet debut with new boyfriend Luke James, who we at PAUSE appreciate his style. Complimenting each other, Luke showed us how-to-wear leather, he wore a black leather jacket, clean white shirt, lack patterned trousers and studded boots.
SKIP: Again, Jaden Smith in his everyday wear. Jaden has his own, individual style, which we respect but when you’re coming to a red carpet you need to step up your style game.
PAUSE: This is exactly how you dress and carry yourself to a red carpet. Showing off his suave dapper style, Nick Jonas wore a slick Amarni double-breasted suit, shutting the red carpet down in confidence. Nick Jonas was clearly the best dressed on the night for us at PAUSE.
PAUSE: A$AP Rocky turned up his style at the American Music Awards, dressed in all black, he opened his white shirt with his chains which just flowed with his whole look effortlessly. We love this.
SKIP: Frankie Grande opts for paint instead of a shirt. No comment, just skip.
