The World Is Your Oyster encourage you to chase dreams for SS17.
Inspired by aspects of Hong Kong lifestyle, The World Is Your Oyster present “We Are Here In Others’ Mold”, their Spring/Summer 2017 campaign. It explores the concept of making a living and going against the grain of mundane office life and repetitive commutes through a range of enticing slogans and captions such as “It’s overwhelming, but what else can we do? Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?”
Other concepts that TWIYO explore within their SS17 campaign are ideas of deconstruction, and the trend of over-sized clothing and asymmetrical tailoring. It aims to force people to change the otherwise powerless nature they adopt following their search for graduate jobs and the like and highlights the importance of experiment. Key pieces from the collection include flared trousers, asymmetric shirts and patchwork overcoats. The campaign was shot by photographer Issac Lam and features styling by Calvin Chan and Joyce Kun with model John Patrick Shadow.
