The fair wage company are set to shut down all their stores in the US and the UK by April.
The end is near, eventually, for American brand American Apparel. After a huge struggle for the company financially the brand has been bought by Canadian T-shirt wholesaler, Gildan, at a bankruptcy auction. The LA company will shut down every single one of its 110 US stores and their Downtown LA factory. The companies UK stores have already shut apart from their outlet store in Camden, London which is the last place you can grab some nostalgic 90’s college wear before the brand is lost forever.
Although while American Apparel have not released an official statement regarding what the future will hold, we hope that their buyer, Gildan, will keep the brand alive in some way.
